Protective shoes have an impact-resistant toe cap with a capacity of 100 joules, while safety shoes have an impact-resistant toe cap with a capacity of 200 joules.
To illustrate what this means in practice: a protective shoe can withstand the fall of an object weighing up to 10 kg, falling from a height of one meter, without causing damage to the person wearing it. On the other hand, a safety shoe can withstand the fall of an object weighing up to 20 kg, falling from the same height, while still providing adequate protection.
This classification allows workers to choose the shoes that best suit their work environment and the risks to which they are exposed.
